About

We’re a credit union. A not-for-profit financial cooperative.  As a member, you are an owner.  That means better rates and definitely lower fees. Bottom line:  We save you money. We were founded in 1958 as the City of Bremerton Employees Credit Union. There were 32 original members, who invested $5 each, so the original assets totaled $160.00.  With total assets now over 41 million, our credit union has continued to offer that genuine service you expect at a credit union as well as products and services to meet the changing needs of our member/owners.

A local place to do business. We serve people who live, work, worship or go to school in Kitsap County. Our focus is local.

Committed to service and keeping it simple. You can get good service anywhere. We aim for great. Without genuine great service we’re toast. It’s that simple.  We take a straightforward approach and demonstrate and a willingness to truly help instead of the profit/fee potential you might see elsewhere.

Stable institution.  We’ve been around for over 62 years and have a strong membership base with public employees in Kitsap County. We’ve weathered the economic storm with a conservative approach and by building a strong level of capital over the years.

Our History

Connection Credit Union (CCU) was founded in 1958 as the City of Bremerton Employees Credit Union. There were 32 original members, who invested $5 each, so the original assets totaled $160.  We expanded by adding City of Port Orchard employees, Kitsap County employees and merged Kitcom credit union into our membership base.  In 2006, we opened our field of membership to serve all of Kitsap County and determined that the name Kitsap County Public Employees Credit Union no longer reflected the full scope and diversity of our membership and we became Connection Credit Union.

For over 60 years, through 7 moves (Bremerton, Port Orchard, and Silverdale), 2 name changes, membership growth of over 10,000% and total assets now over 40 million, our credit union has continued to offer products and services to meet the changing needs of our membership.  We maintain a community, family-oriented feel you expect from your local credit union. We still act like a credit union.

Our membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Kitsap County.

We are looking forward to the future with resolve to continue to enhance products and services, value our loyal members and educate our field of membership about the credit union difference and our “people helping people” philosophy.
